Home Water Loss Audits

Verify your home is leak free.  At a time when you are not using water, watch your water meter for five minutes.  The dials of the register should not move, including the small leak indicator if one is present.  A slowly moving dial indicates a leak and you should call a plumber for necessary repairs.

The highest household water usage occurs in the bathroom.  Check for toilet leaks by adding food coloring or using leak detector tablets (tablets are free at the Aqua Customer Service department).  If the toilet is leaking, color will appear in the bowl within 30 minutes, indicating the flapper probably needs replacing.
