AQUA WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION – PWS ID TX0110013
415 Old Austin Hwy
Bastrop, TX 78602

On January 17th, 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required Aqua WSC to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that water was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Aqua WSC has taken the necessary actions to confirm the quality of the water and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water does not require boiling prior to use as of January 19th, 2024.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Aqua WSC at: 512-303-3943.
The following area was affected:
- North of HWY 290 between the intersection of Old McDade Road and Elgin City Limits, and
- East of HWY 95 North, and
- South of the Williamson/Bastrop County Line.
- Customers on Lund Road between County Line Road and HWY 95 North are also affected.
Why did this happen?
This notice was necessary to keep our customers safe. Shortly before the notice was issued, many customers suffered from household water leaks caused by freezing temperatures. As leaks continued, our system struggled to keep up, resulting in low distribution pressures.
A reduction or loss of pressure in the distribution system can result in backflow, allowing contaminants to enter drinking water through unprotected cross-connections. Boiling water keeps our customers safe from potential contamination.
We are pleased to inform you, our members, that pressure in the affected area has been restored, and test results indicated no contamination. We appreciate your patience and understanding as well as your attention to this important safety concern.
Aqua WSC wants to work with our customers to be as prepared as possible when it comes to freezing weather. For tips on how to winterize your home and property, please visit our website at https://www.aquawsc.com/news/tips-tricks-for-winterizing-your-home-property/.
