Leak Repair
- Repair dripping faucets by replacing washers. If your faucet is dripping at a rate of one drip per second, you will waste over 2,000 gallons of water per year.
- The highest household water usage occurs in the bathroom. Check for toilet leaks by adding food coloring or using leak detector tablets (tablets are free at the Aqua Customer Service department). If the toilet is leaking, color will appear in the bowl within 30 minutes, indicating the flapper probably needs replacing.
- Turn off landscape irrigation in the cold weather to prevent pipes from freezing.
- Have a licensed plumbers phone number readily available to call when a water leak occurs.
